Mar~Marionetas Showcase

The Mar~Marionetas festival is celebrating 20 years of existence, a legacy full of experiences, of training audiences and of different artistic proposals. In this way, Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora empowers the Festival by expanding it in time, place, and space. In time, because the Festival will now last one month, in place, because in this edition we will have decentralized cultural events in all the municipality parishes, and in space, because in addition to the national companies we will also have a diverse range of international structures performing. International structures of excellence and recognized merit, the result of a partnership effort between Mar~Marionetas and other festivals of great national importance. This is the only way to bring major companies to this region, presenting them and making the culture of other countries known.

This adds up to shows, workshops, animations, and exhibitions. We travel to schools and extend the program to kindergartens, we host workshops, in more than two hundred cultural proposals that we are sure will leave you with a full soul. It is with a great sense of public duty, but also with a great deal of passion and professionalism, that we think of a dynamic program, the result of a joint effort.

The exhibition has an audio guide, as well as a piece dedicated to people with visual impairments. Access to the audio guide will be via cell phone or tablet, so please use your own headphones.

In 2024, Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora will be expanding the content it offers, taking into account ongoing accessibility demands. In addition to the audio guides developed for the exhibitions and the tactile display dedicated to blind audiences, this year we began a gradual process of adapting our graphic content. This adaptation aims to follow standards and use fonts that make reading easier for the elderly, children, and people with dyslexia, thus reinforcing inclusion and accessibility for a wider audience.
