the Refuge - the art of protecting the forest

The forest used to be so big, there were so many trees to fit in and where everyone lived... but now there is only one tree left in the forest and this is the only refuge for all the animals. But what's happening? Man is going mad! Caruma, protector of the forest and the animals, lives in harmony with nature and fights so that his forest is not destroyed by the hand of man. Inspired by the mission to give voice to the protection of the forest, we have created a show where live music and puppets merge in an ode to nature and all that is beautiful about it. Are we still in time to reverse the sad future to which the planet seems to be condemned?

"O Refúgio - a arte de proteger a floresta" is the result of a partnership between Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora and Novaterra - Associação Cultural Arte e Ambiente, with the support of the Direção-Geral das Artes and the Municipality of Gondomar. From this exceptional partnership, which includes extraordinary songs, comes the publication of this CD-book, which we hope will leave a deeper mark on the public and be another seed in the long work of protecting and preserving Planet Earth. Thus, all the elements that made up the show: theatrical action, music and pedagogy came together in the studio, where the songs took on a new life and a story was recreated in order to combine the lyrics of the songs with important scientific information.
