To explore the rich art of puppetry on Portuguese soil is to embark on a journey through the puppet builders/creators who elevate the puppet to the category of true artistic expression. This four-monthly exhibition is a celebration of the plastic work of national creators, a tribute to deep-rooted tradition and contemporary innovation.

This exhibition not only celebrates the past but also highlights the innovations that contemporary creatives bring to the art of puppetry. The exhibition is a testimony to the dynamism of this form of expression, where tradition and innovation coexist harmoniously, and highlights the diversity of styles, techniques, and inspirations that shape the puppetry scene in the country.

“Marionetas em Portugal” is a temporary exhibition organized by the Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora company.
